Westin blocks are open, but the reps might tell you that they can't book that far ahead. Just explain that others have already been able to get their rooms. That's what happened with me, and the gal I was talking to was super nice, did a quick check, and then was able to book my room. When booking, ask for the attendee group. It seems there are two DC groups; one for guests and one for internal folks. The internal will show as unavailable, so ask for the other one. They require a two night down payment which will be about $540, and payment in full in April.
The Marriott opens up their blocks sometime in October, but honestly? I don't recommend it. The elevator situation there is notorious and it can be loud.
The Sheraton is - from what I've heard - the least expensive of all the host hotels. I'm not sure when it opens up its' blocks, since they ended their legacy program this year.
I don't have any info for the Hyatt or the Hilton yet.
***Overflow Hotels***
There are overflow hotels as well, and some have charter bus service to Peachtree Center if you don't feel like walking. I don't remember their names, but I have stayed at one of them (sadly I can't remember the name), and it was fantastic. Other overflows are Hotel Indigo, Motel 6 (which some of us stayed in in '09), and Inn at the Peachtrees to name a few. Just look up Atlanta Hotels in google maps with a focus on the Peachtree center.
No matter what hotel you choose, keep calling!
