Exactly. The bacta tablet should travel a ways down the esophagus, then become slightly lodged in the section which was severed, if it's large enough. There, the tablet would supposedly just melt away, and heal the wound. Of course, Damien would have a soar throat for a few minutes, but he'll be alright.
