    A New Beginning (closed)

***Streaks of light became shorter.. turning to twinkling dots as the Corellian Freighter YT-1300 Silver Falcon disengaged the hyperdrive. In the middle of the viewscreen, there it was; the hemisphere of a green bead illuminating the dark ominous void of space. A precious jewel.. a marble with gracious cloth of clouds scattered, over its body. So peaceful.. so beautiful.***

    -----------

In the cabin, a small figure sat behind the controls, gently adjusting the throttle for the subspace engines with his tiny green hands. The modified T4 Incom Mark II fusal propulsion system hummed happily as he increased the speed toward its target.

He had the most worried and concerned look on his face as he emerged his minds in a train of thoughts. It was a terrible day for the Jedi Master. Something horrible had happened. He could still remember it clearly. Through the highly customized Chedak Frequency Agile subspace tranceiver, he had received a Class Red encrypted message from JK Leia Solo:

<font color=red>"Urgent... zzzzrrt... The Sith Empire are destroying our Headqu... zt.. ers! We... zzrt... forced to evacuate. Your mission... zzzzrrt... highest priority. The Jedi zzzzzrrrtt.. with you at jumpoint B. We hope... zzzzzzrrt. See you there. May the Force... zzzrt.. you!"</font>

The bad transmission could not hide how desperate she sounded. Neither could he deny cry in the Force he had felt. His friends were in trouble, no doubt. It was a dark, dark time for the Jedi. However, in the Darkness there was a small beacon of light. There was a hope. It was time for a new beginning. What the Council had decided upon many months ago, and which he and DT had been assigned to do, seemed even more important now. It was simply no longer a convenience - it was a necessity. No word had been received of how the <a href=http://pub2.ezboard.com/fswvstitanicstarwarsroleplayingarchive.showMessage ?topicID=3024.topic>rest of the mission</a> had been going, but nevertheless, he was determined to finish what was started.

The pilot could not decide what distracted him most from thinking on the <a href=http://pub2.ezboard.com/fswvstitanicstarwarsroleplayingarchive.showMessage ?topicID=3027.topic>latest events</a>; the magnificent mirror image of the sun reflecting on the planet's ocean or the flashing warning lights on the control panels that screamed as the stellar object pulled the ship toward herself with the arms of gravity. The hull of the freighter made whistling sound as the metal hit the outer layer of atmosphere; "Fffffffhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeee...". The vector trust system burst out jets streams in the opposite direction of movement, slowing down the descent. As the surface closed in, the entire viewscreen was filled with life.. forest as far as the eye could see. This was not a dark desolate place with swamps and thick clouds. This was a place of great beauty.

The flight computer searched frantically for potential landing sites. There.. perfect spot for landing ships and unloading cargo. A large field of grass. No trees or rocks to obstruct in the entire area. There would be plenty of room for the others. With a whirring sound, the landing gear unfolded, ready to touch the ground. Subspace engine switched off as the repulsor lift system kicked into action. The pilot made some last adjustments while the ship glided in for landing. A quick jet burst of steam shoot out to gentle the contact as the metallic feet stepped on the surface.

The landing platform lowered, revealing the small green creature. The air was fresh. It was good to get out into the free of nature after sitting in that metal can. Good to feel the ground under the feet again. Much like how a sea travelers who traveled those ancient vessels propelled by the wind a long time ago, would feel when he reached a harbor. But it was not time for admiring nature. The time schedule was tight.

Out of the cargo hold, he was pulling what seemed like some sort of a parabola dish. It was a radio communication antenna. Setting it up some distance from the ship would enable him to combine the broadcast with the subspace tranceiver on board the Silver Falcon, thus he would increase the range. Not a good time for miscommunications due to bad connection. He connected a wire to the antenna, and pulled it toward an outlet on the side of the ship.. then walked in to the tranceiver itself.

An encryption logarithm run in the background as he talked into the microphone: "Master Yoghurt speaking.. the Falcon has landed. Building of nest to start. Help is needed."

::As Rebel streaks through the endless stars he wonders what will await the jedi as they begin rebuilding. A time of starting over, after TSE's attack on Dagobah. He thought of how strange it was going to be to get used to a new area, a new place to live and operate from. Rebel already missed the smell of the dew around the old temple as he walked around in the early morning. For a second he drifted into a daydream, smelling the sweetness of some nearby flowers, and sitting against a tree as night became dawn. Suddenly he was jarred back to reality from his dream by his ship coming out of hyperspace. Rebel looks at his ship's computer::

    Coming out of hyperspace_
Commensing landing program 2.3ka.6 at area delta b_

::Looking at his nav computer he sighed and prepared to land as the rendeavous point came into view on his mainscreen, ever so slowly. It became larger and larger, as Rebel continued to look on. Stormchaser entered the atmosphere of the jedi's new home, stopping the thrusters periodically, going through it's programmed landing. Rebel got up from his seat and put on his gear as his ship reached the designated area::

    *Blip* *Blip*
*Rebel's nav computer picked up another ship's presence*

"Ah, so Yog has already arrived, good."

::Stormchaser's thrusters disengaged as it landed ever so gracefully on the large grassy meadow, coming to a stop near the Silver Falcon. As his ship's gangplank extended down onto the ground Rebel walked out and took in the beauty of the area. He felt a slight wind blowing, sending scents of the surrounding meadow through the air. Coming back to what he was there for, Rebel looked over towards where the 3 foot tall figure of Yog was standing, looking over the land, and walked over::

"Glad to see you Rebel. Now we must begin building."

"Yes, we must hurry and build a new base. Where do you think we should start?"

    *** Bleep Bleep ***

The Jedi was awakened by the sound of the navigation proximity alarm. After slowly sitting up and stretching his arms above his head, Figrin stood up and walked out of his sleeping quarters. The hyperspace flight from Dagobah had been long, but uneventful... a welcome change from the status quo. The past few days had been a strain on everyone... it seemed that the Jedi Order always had to deal with bad situations in bunches, sometimes overwhelming them to the point of retreat. Unfortunately, that was exactly the case now... the Jedi had been forced from their home once again, the fate of many still in question after the devistating attack on the remote planet...

Figrin slumped into the pilot's chair of his ship, the Azure Starfire. After tapping a few controls, the nav computer showed the ships approach to his new destination. 'A few more seconds,' he thought to himself...

With a quick hand, the Jedi pulled back on the hyperspace toggle. The star steaks quickly reduced back to millions of singular dots as the ship slowed. Off to the port side, a large planet came streaking into view...

    'Right about.... now.'

The Jedi fired the ships thrusters and banked slightly port, towards the orange covered world, then leveled off. Figrin dropped the engines back to 75%, then sat back in his chair. He had flown this route countless times and knew all the tricks... hold in hyperspace an extra moment, then drop out hard, flank port and catch the planet's gravity field. Then, use it like a sling shot to clear the planet quicker.

Figrin checked the count... about 2 minutes...

The Jedi reached towards a side panel and grabbed the data pad lying there. He loaded the files containing the history of the infamous place to which he was now headed. Quickly scanning over the document, he marked a few key points that he would look into later after he arrived. The construction of a new base would provide some opportunity for exploration, and Figrin wanted to have the latest knowledge at his disposal...

The count ticked down to under 10 seconds. Figrin grabbed the controls and, as the time ticked to zero, fired the thrusters up to 100%... coming into view in the distance, he could see his destination. The lush green jungles of __________ made the place a pleasent sight to behold from space. The surface was just as intriguing visually, yet just as the jungles often obscured many of the key locations, the whole of it was a shadowed bastion of past evil... evil that Figrin hoped they would not have to confront...

The ship's sensors scanned it, searching for life signs and starship power grids. The results printed out on the screen, and Figrin browsed them intently... a few humanoid lifesigns, a couple ships, one of them a YT-1300 Correllian...

'Hmm.. looks like Yog is here already.'

The signals originated from a large clearing not far from one of larger structures. Figrin turned back to the controls, switched off the auto pilot and guided his ship into the atmosphere. The white clouds whipped past his view, finally clearing as the Azure Starfire emerged into the lower atmosphere. The Jedi banked his ship starboard and slowed as he approached the clearing. With the landing gear engaged and locked, Figrin eased the landing jets back. The ship contacted the ground and stabilized. Figrin shut down the engines, threw on his cloak, grabbed his data pad and headed toward the already lowered ramp...

Emerging from the ship, Figrin shielded his eyes slightly as they adjusted to the bright sunlight. A small green figure stood near a taller human outside of the YT-1300 Correllian. The Jedi strode towards his two friends, ready to begin the next chapter in Jedi history...

Stepping out of the cockpit, he looks in a seperate room to see Leeloo lying on a bed, sleeping peacefully. With a cruel smile, Ash reaches to his side, and punches the alarm switch...

    AWOOGA! AWOOGA!

Leeloo leaps up with a start, and looks round to see Ash laughing.

    "Wakey wakey" he says
    "Wha..?"
"Time to get up, we are here"

Ash walks into the cockpit, happy with his revenge for the nose, and sits down as the HS klaxon sound. Pulling the Hyperspace toggle, the lines turn back to stars...::

With a sudden burst of imagined motion, the YT 2400 White Rhino Tea dropped out of hyperspace.

    A beep sounded.

Another beep sounded, follwed by a groan.

Yet another beep. "I GET THE IDEA CAD!"

Morgan Evanar groaned something about droids and their deficient audio sensors as he got up out of his seat. They were approaching _________ with a good deal of celerity. Soon, there was a hum of atmos engines. He approached the landing area, and he noted a few assorted starfighters and Yog's ship as he buzzed the feild, pulled up in a graceful loop and landed.

Fewd walked off the ramp and jumped for joy. "No muck! YAY!"

:: Silently Warren's ship came out of hyperspace, it had been only a few hours since he had left Dagobah and he was still getting used to all that had happened. He had gone back to the planet against all orders to get his ship and try to save his home, instead he was shot at and his house was blown up. This had already been a long day for the Jedi and he was looking forward to a new beginning and a new home, he watched in silence as his control panel started to blink. After pressing a few buttons he laid back in his seat letting the ship go on it's predestined course, he was getting a little more turbulence than he had expected entering the planets atmosphere but it was nothing he couldn't handle. As he got closer to the ground he saw a few ships appearing on his radar, guessing that he hadn't been the first one here and rushed to their location. As he neared the location he saw a couple ships and a few people outside talking, landing not to far away from everyone he stepped out of his ship and onto his new home. He looked around taking in the new scenery as he made his way over to the group of people, the first person he noticed among the group was Leeloo. He was glad she had made it out alive, he had feared her for dead when he hadn't found her before on Dagobah. He sighed as he thought of Dagobah but that was all in the past now and he was here to help rebuild, he walked closer to the Jedi now noticing Rebel and Master Yoghurt as he went. After walking up to them he turned around to speak ::

"It's good to see a few friendly faces, ever since I left Dagobah I've been fearing the worst for a couple people. Like Leeloo over here, I thought she was a dead but it's good to see I was wrong. Well since a few of us are hear already when do we begin construction ?"

A few minutes later his ship lands softly near Rebels ship, Storm Chaser.

OOC - I was asked to edit Figrin's and Liam's posts, since they stated a location which was supposed to be kept secret. I had to do some more heavy editing to Figrin's, since he also mentioned key locations there. I tried my best to keep the integrity of the posts, but feel free to re-edit them yourselves and fix them up the way you'd like. I'm really sorry about this, but I was asked to do it at the behest of several GJO members.

The group of Jedi gathered around Yog. Fewd casually wielded his trout around..

    Liam spoke first:

<font color=red>"Yo man, it is a bit quiet, dont you think?"</font>

Jedi Rebel X nodded and Warren looked at Yog with a questioning look at his face. Figrin raised an eyebrow as he analysed the situation in his mind.

They seemed a bit lost. No defenses. No building materials. And how could they do all this alone?

Yog sensed what Figrin was thinking

"Fear not. Help soon to come.. visit we will have. The Jedi.. and friends from NR"

<font color=cyan>RebelX: But what do we do now?</font>

    "Come.. come and help. Heavy.."

All the Jedi joined in pulling the strange looking device out of the cargo hold of the Silver Falcon.

    <font color=cyan>Rebel Jedi X: What is that?</font>

Figrin did not take long to figure it out.

<font color=yellow>Figrin: That would be a transponder beacon. It will allow the rest of Jedi to find our landing spot more easily.</font>

<font color=lime>Leeloo: Why not just use a standard homing beacon?</font>

"Less precise it is.. now, we wait.."

With a flash, a squadron of C-wings exited hyperspace at jumpoint B. Then another squadron.. and another. Finally, the first transports appeared.

On the bridge of the MC-90 Hurricane, Darth Turbogeek monitored the taskforce, Jedi ships and cargo entering from hyperspace. The coordinates for the landing which were bradcasted by the transponder beacon on an encrypted channel had been plotted into the navigation computers.

<font color=cyan>"All transports, engage landing procedure at these coordinates. Fighters, patrol the perimeter of the system. Start deploying proximity mines"</font>

    -----------

***A few minutes later.. at "Falcon's Nest". The group of Jedi gazed up as the clear blue sky was suddenly dotted with with transports, gliding into landing patterns***

The first personel transports lovered the landing platforms. Soon the area bustled with movements. NR personel as well as Jedi. NR Engineers scouted the areas for suitable building foundations spots. Crew were running around in hective activity.

Then the cargo transports opened their holds. Out emerged cargo droids and repulsor lift transporters moving crates and structures around in a symphony of mechanic movements.

Yog and the other Jedi observed the proceedings and gave orders for where equipment and personal belongings should be placed until further notice. The logistics progressed smooth and by the numbers.

Meanwhile, Atgar 1.4 FD P-Towers and CoMar G-003 Tri-Trackers were placed at high altitude steep terrain unaccessable by repulsor crafts or ST-walkers. Golan Arms Twin SP.9 Anti-Infantery Battery were placed at strategic spots. The first few Taim & Bak XX-9 heavy turbolasers and anti starfighter laser cannons were later pulled into place by gigantic repulsor lift systems.

700 meters away, there was a vast area with rocky and highly unacessable terrain. In the middle of this there was appeared to be a meteor crater, hidden by the vegetation. This is where the sections of the highly modified kuatt Drive Yards DSS-02 Shield Generator were to be assembled. The foundation structure fit perfectly into the deep of the crater. Further hidden by the rim of the surrounding forest, from ground level, the upper edge of the structure would only be visible at 75 meter or less from the edge of the crater. The actual projection arrays were positioned such, the walls of the crater obstructed clear line of fire at a 60 degree angle or lower from the horizon.

A Jedi Padawan's worst fears had come to pass. Jace Darklighter sat upright in his chair, his blood-shot eyes wide and unbelieving. He had received an encrypted message from the GJO, which made his stomach turn. Not only had his attack on <a href=http://pub2.ezboard.com/fswvstitanicstarwarsroleplayingarchive.showMessage Range?topicID=3024.topic&start=21&stop=26>Bespin </a>been inutile, but he no longer had a home to return to. The Sith Empire had launched an attack against the Jedi and now Dagobah was lost.

A coiling muster of light encircled his crumpled X-Wing. Jace's hands drifted across his navigational controls as he prepared to leave the cognate world of light and emerge himself in the despondency reality, which lay ahead. The message had included coordinates for a new home. That home held new promises of peace and prosperity. A domain to begin anew and leave the suffering and ruin behind.

The Jedi's hand gripped the ship's lever to freedom. He eased it back and quickly saw the display of surrounding light vanish to distant plots of shimmering stars. Jace fixed his gaze on the planet below. He forced a smile.

The planet was beautiful, filled with greenery and oceans. His thoughts encompassed the future. The Jedi closed his eyes and reached out with his mind. The Corellian tried to vision what lay ahead but he received no such condolence. Placing his hands on the ship's control, once more, he throttled the ship forward into the planet's atmosphere. His navigational screen sought out any nearing ships or familiar identification marks. The ship beeped a categorical reply as he spotted a cluster of ships, identified from the GJO. He flew the X-Wing to a clearing and lowered it into place. A hiss erupted as the opening to the ship rose to allow passage for Jace. The Corellian removed his helmet and stepped out to greet his fellow Jedi.

A comfort was felt in seeing familiar faces. He sighed a relief that he didn't know he was holding. Direction was once again placed before him, as the Jedi Master's supervised and helped in construction. The forests around him were fresh with life. The Padawan was ready to begin and head into a future of uncertainty. Yet, somehow that future seemed bright filled with happiness.

Yog: Well, the defenses might not be much, but it is a start. No time to waste. Let us delegate some tasks..

Figrin, I want you to go explore those nearby ruins. Report if finding anything unusual.

Rebel, would you do a reconnassaince of the nearby jungle, make notes of the local plant life and the fauna.

Liam, please find me those blueprints for the constructions we could not find earlier. It is one of those cargo containers over there. Be carefull of not breaking those jars of frozen root stew...

Warren and Leeloo. I want you to look for possible spots for construction of a 500X500 meter building in the near vicinity. Make sure the ground is stabile and a good foundation.

Jace, find me some maps of this place.. they are found in that crate marked X-79 in the cargo hold of the Silver Falcon.

    <font color=yellow>Figrin: What about you and..?</font>

:: Four sleepless days, 96 hours without rest. Boricua's eyes were as long as a giraffe's neck and as purple as an eggplant. The jedi master had been unable to sleep, guiltness filled his body and soul. The Temple Avalon destroyed, and Degobah gone. When the message had reached him he was stranded on an outpost in the brink of the galaxy, the last stop before the unknown regions. He was stuck with technical problems and he knew that if he had been able to reach the green planet on time the outcome of the battle would have been very different. He had design the planet defenses and had helped to build the fleet, he knew how everything worked and how to repell such an attack but he had never taken the time to explain anybody. Damn him and his lazyness, he thought. A valiant job did those who organized the evacuation with so little to work with. Boricua knew this thought was going to hunt him for the rest of his life, but none the less life goes on and so must the jedi, the jedi MUST GO ON!

With the message came in some coordinates. And four days later he was there, finnally. As the ship emerge from that other dimension called hyperspace, Boricua was lost in the beautiful sight in front of him. He had been there many times before, but this time he thought of the system as home and something just felt right. A tear escaped his eyelid, maybe this is some twisted plan of the force to make the jedi rethink and be reborn as the true fighters of light they once were. Maybe this is the beggining of a new golden age in jedi history.

Life had taught him that changes brought pain, but most of the time it was for the best, and this change was going to be for the best, not only of the jedi, but of the galaxy.

He shifted the vessel on autopilot and readied for landing. Once the spacecraft hit ground, Boricua emerged to meet the all to familiar figure of Yoghurt sipping on some of his stew ::
