    Vice Versa

As she fell through the air the wind threatened to whisk her body away, slamming it into buildings and then to the ground, far below. But it didn't. An unseen Force kept her steady, slowing her descent as she neared a ledge that jutted out from a window.

De'Ville grabbed the ledge, straining as the wind tugged at her. The window was transparisteel, and she hefted her body onto the ledge, dangling her feet off. She was crying, the tears staining her alabaster cheeks. There were two lightsabers attached to her belt: her own, and the one she had taken from Cline. She stood, steadying herself with the Force, and cut open the window with her jaded purple blade.

::Michael stumbled up to his feet on the roof top of the Courascant building the fight had taken place on. His head was still spinning from whatever it was De'Ville had done to him. He could still see some of her memories in his mind, he felt sorry for what she had had to endure, he understood all too well what a trauma can do to someone. As he stood there the wind howling and looked up as the sky began to open and the rain poured down upon his face he tried to gauge the battle. Who had won? De'Ville had meant to kill him, she had settled for his lightsaber. Michael would in his own mind call this one a draw, since she had gotten his saber and he was still alive. He sighed heavily and walked back to where he had entered. He was sick of Courascant. Time to head on home for a shower and a warm dry bed.::

::Michael made his way through the streets of Courscant as he headed towards the ship dock. He wanted to get home and forget this had ever happened. As he walked he heard the sound of crying, he turned his head and for a brief glimpse caught the figure of a young girl. It looked like... No. That wasn't possible, it had to be nothing more than a residual effect of the mind link De'Ville had tried, there was no way he had just seen De'Ville as a young girl. He continued walking shrugging off the uneasy feelings he was now having. In the distance he could hear a young girl's voice...::

    "Michael... Michael..."

::He ignored it and kept pressing on to the ship dock, he was just tired. That had to be it.::

When the transparisteel had cooled, De'Ville stepped into the room beyond. It was empty of life, but ornately decorated, a reminder of how high up she was. If she had continued to fall...

She shook off the thought, and crept silently through the room. There was security rigged on the door, but she easily bypassed it and stepped into a long white hallway. "Lilaena..." She turned her head quickly, scanning the hall for movement. There was none.

    Who had spoken?

She walked briskly down the hall, but turned quickly around, hearing the voice again. It sounded like a young boy, and this time she caught a glimpse of something. Like a shimmer in the air as if a hologram was appearing...or disappearing. De'Ville hadn't sensed anything, but it was highly unusual.

Once outside of the apartment she had cut into, De'Ville hurried to her motel. It was a section over, and she would have to hurry to get there before they gave her room away. Out in the open, the wind had died down a little. She hailed a cab, and climbed in carefully.

"Lilaena...my parents!" She looked at the seat next to her, startled. A boy sat there, at the age where he was caught between child and man, and he was crying. Then the image disappeared. She blinked.

She knew she hadn't imagined it. She closed her eyes, and say the child's face again. If Cline were ten years younger... No, it couldn't be.

"You alright, miss?" She looked at the cabbie. He was staring at her in the rearward mirror.

"Yes, I'm fine. Oh -its right up here on the right." The cab stopped and she climbed out.

::Cline sat restfully on the transport that would take him back to his home with the Jedi. It had been a tiring experience all together and was looking forward to relaxing. It was odd though he could still hear the voice of the little girl, Cline didn't quite understand it but he was sure it would go away once he had gotten some sleep.::

    Later arriving at his destination

::Cline stepped off of the transport and walked slowly through the halls of the tranquil Greater Jedi Order base, it was late and he seemed to be the only one up. Not a sound to be heard at all. So... peaceful. He suddenly heard the sound of footsteps running down a far cooridor, "Who would be up this late?" He questioned himself. An overwhelming sense of darkness seemed to fill him, whoever had just been running wasn't supposed to be here that was for sure. He decided it would be best to investigate and followed the echoing steps they seemed to keep a steady pace infront of him no matter how fast or slow he was going. Odd.::

::He turned several long cooridors and hallways when suddenly the footsteps stopped. He looked at where he was in disbelief, he was in front of his own room's door, which was... slightly open?! He inched the door open more and glanced inside it was complete dark, he heard inside however crying. He pushed the door open and flipped on the light. There, sitting on his bed, was a young girl, crying. He looked at her shocked, and managed to regain his composure.::

    "Who are you?"

::The child continued to cry but wiped away a few tears long enough to answer.::

    "Lilaena. Lilaena Y'Vide."

::Cline's jaw dropped open wide as she spoke the words and seemed to dematerialize as if she had been nothing more than a hologram.::

De'Ville slept curled up on her side, blankets drawn up under her chin against a slight draft. As she slept, she dreamed...but her dreams were not her own. For the first time since she had been 12, her usual dream, with the snakes and the uniforms, was gone.

She was standing in a small room, evidently part of a cottage, and the sunlight was streaming in through the windows. There was a woman fixing something at a table, and a man was standing behind her, tickling her neck. They were laughing.

There was an intense feeling of foreboding, and De'Ville began to feel anxious, as if she knew what was going to happen. But the dream was new, she had never experienced it before. Then, blinding pain!

Something struck her in the back of the neck, and she fell forward. There was a glimpse of her parents (parents?) concerned faces and then she was ripped through with intense pain as the Force flowed through her. Screams tore her ears, and everything went black.

She wandered in Darkness for a minute or two, and then she saw burnt and charred bodies in a smoking house. She was overcome by shame, fear, and sadness. Mostly an intense sadness.

De'Ville sat up, soaked in sweat. The sheets were twisted around her legs and body as if she had been thrashing around. What was going on with her?
