    Confirming Loyalties (Kre'fey)

The First fleet glided through hyperspace, the gentle thrum of the engines aboard the command ship Avatar soothing General Dodonna. I will need soothing following this upcoming stryfe, he thought. He had had quite enough of war to last his entire lifetime, even following his forceful ejection from the empire. He still remembered the warm night. He had been sleeping soundly, before he was rudely awaken by the sound of the Emperor's commandos shattering his transparisteel windows downstairs. He had taken flight the moment he realized what had occured, his nightrobe his only protection from the harsh elements. Somehow, he had found himself joining the Rebellion, orchestrating their attacks, honing their military into a fine blade, until his capture by the devil Isard. The Alliance had suffered due to his absence, that much was clear. His well-organised military forces had fallen into disarray, led by politician-turned-generals and the heroes of the day....men like Lando Calrissian and Han Solo, who had as much talent for military strategy as they had for herding a pack of Balmorran house cats.

He had returned from that hellish prison to find a corrupt Republic led majorly by a Bothan, of all races. His return to active duty had been immediate, as per his own request-there was work to be done. The deck rumbled, and the twirling cloud-looking starlines receded.

"Is the entire fleet out of hyperspace and in formation?" he asked a sensor operator-a young ensign recently conscripted from God knows where and forced into OCS for a pitiful four months. His reply was late in arriving, but luckily it was in the affirmative.

"Hold here for a while. Let them realize our strength. Perhaps it will deter them from whatever treasonous activities they have planned today."

He received an acknowledgement, and began to wait. Kre'fey would show himself soon enough.

Traest Kre'Fey, leader of the Bothan forces, paced his deck nodescriptedly. Just like any other naval officer would. His uniform, hung loosely to his fur, the Bothan Navy insignia on it. Peace and quiet. A rareity for a commander. He took a deep breath in a klaxons began to blare and yellow lights flashed.
"Sir!" Screamed a young Bothan ensign, the voice streaked with fear.
"What is it Ensign?" Kre'Fey responded calmly.
"A group of battle cruisers six point three-eight kilometers away, transpoders read NR ships."
"Dodonna.." Traest said in a very low tone.
    "Sir?" Replied the ensign.
"Commander of the New Republic 4th fleet. Pondscum if you ask me." The Admiral said with disgust; "Get pilots to their ships, gunners to their posts, engine crew on stand-by."

"General, we have detected a local fleet. Most likely, it is the Bothan defense force." A sensor lieutenant reported.

"Open a comm channel to the lead ship, Ensign," Dodonna instructed the communications officer.

The holograph of a Bothan-a Captain in the Planetary militia, it appeared-took shape on the bridge.

"Greetings, Captain," Dodonna began, not certain of the Bothan's name. "We are here to investigate rumors that the planet Bothawui is preparing to secede from the Republic. The fact that your warships are preparing to fire...." Dodonna glanced upwords at a section of the NET display, confirming that his data was still up-to-date, "confirms these rumors. The Senate has given me the authority to do whatever is in the power of this command to....change your minds. Please forward this data to Traest Kre'fey. To prove that we're serious, and force will be used to maintain Bothawui as a Republic system...fire, Lieutenant."

Beams of light shot from the 116 ships of the 1st fleet, impacting directly on the hull of a small Corvette hugging the Bothan flank. The Corvette erupted into short-lived flames, which dissipated due to the lack of oxygen in the void. The Corvette's hull blackened, and its hull split along its midsection. The ship's crew began to spill out into space, long dead and burned from the superheating of the ship's atmosphere that thousands of laser blasts can be known to cause.

Dodonna smiled a bit, then forced himself to mimic a look of sheepishness.

"My god! What have you done?" he playfully scolded the crew aboard his command ship. "That was supposed to be a warning shot!"

A commander aboard the Avatar, a man who was privy to the plan, smiled in a similar fashion. "I'm sorry, General. We'll reinitialize the targeting computers."

Dodonna's face straightened suddenly, and he glared at the Bothan commander. "The Republic is at war. Now is not the time to be out here quelling uprisings."

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Screamed Kre'Fey in bitter rage. "Prepare to run. Go to Mon Cal first, then redirect to GMA terrortory.. you know where. Do it quick. Laucnh Videl squad now. Also, active all Devind Wind units we have in the fleet. Understand ?!"
"Y-yesssir!" Snaps the nearest Lt. as he gives out the orders.
" Open a channel to Dodonna."
"Yes sir," Replies an ensign, "Open."
"Stupid Fool! You just screwed over several dozen systems! 113 ship fleet when you only have about 230! What type idiot are you?! Well.. pray you have no bothans aboard. Kre'Fey out!"

After a breif second after the end of the transmition, amongst the chaos of the bridge of the cruiser, Traest Kre'Fey ordered the Devind Wind mission to be carried out. The same time, a group of V-wing starfighters, made trench-runs on the Avatar, most of them, being blown to hell. Dying. Kre'Fey knew he was doomed, especially as he began to order a full retreat.

On Mon Calamari, Marel Fey'len, a Bothan technition, walked into the main generator room of the ship yards there, looked down into her hand. The small orb was giving off a tint light as is chirped its beep. Fey'len inhaled deeply, then dropped the orb, a thermal detonator. She carried out her part of the Devind Wind plan, elsewhere, everywhere, Bothan's gave there life, destroying the Republic.

On Vortex, the light shuttle pilot Trenta Kert'a, looked back at his final cargo. Primitive petrollium explosives. He intended on crashing them into the Cathedral. Unbeknownest, the locals went about their routine, a few stopping, wondering why something was in a no-fly zone. Poor them.

Dodonna smirked at the traitor's ranting. At least he would not have to worry about defeating an intellectual mastermind.

"Power up the gravity-well generators," Dodonna commanded.

    "Gravity-wells active, General."

Dodonna thought for a moment, deciding the best course of action.

"Give me a five second port thruster pulse. Activate starboard tractor beams. Do not let our traitor escape. Signal the fleet to open fire, maximum intensity. Target the assault cruiser's weapons, engines, and life support systems. Ready boarding parties, instruct the men to take their rebreathers."

The fleet opened fire, and the hull of the bothan ship began to blacken. Systems began failing sporadically. Escape pods were launched from the bothan cruiser. As they drifted through space, angling towards the nearest habitable planet, the fleet opened fire with their smaller batteries, vaporizing all pods that came within range.

Such is the fury that will be unleashed upon those traitors that abandon the cause during its time of greatest need, Dodonna thought.

Kyle walked up to the General. He saluted and waited until he returned.

"Sir would you like me to take Wraith Squadron out there?"
