Captain Ikthoos' heels clicked as he made his way down the long corridor that ran down the center of the Starfire. Though he didn't show it, he was almost overcome with excitement. Only years of battle and hardship kept him from running down the hallway to the bridge of his new flagship.

The Starfire was a heavily modified Recusant Cruiser that had originally fought the Old Republic on the side of the CIS. When the Republic had changed over to the Empire, the Starfire, then called Doombringer, was scrapped. Years later, it was found in a decommission yard by rebel spies and secreted away to a shipyard sympathetic to the Rebel Alliance. There it had its interior modified to handle organic crewmembers instead of droids and the hangars were adapted to accomodate 6 squadrons of starfighters. The CIS emblems were removed and it was given over to Requiem Task Group.

The ship was larger than the rest of the ships under Ikthoos' command combined and their fighter complement almost double the amount of fighters he could bring to bear on his targets.

Rhinn stopped in front of the blast doors that led to bridge. Here he hesitated for a second, collecting his breath. Then he stepped up to the doors.

The sensors registered his presence and opened. Inside, the stations were all on standby, waiting for a crew to give them a purpose. Rhinn took a deep breath in. The air was clean, scrubbed a hundred times over until any trace of natural components were gone. It was stale, sanitized and mechanical... just the way that Rhinn liked it. That smell had accompanied him through his entire live until it felt like home. While planets claimed that the natural air on their planets were better, he had never found anything as comforting as the air on starships.

Taking his seat, he gripped the nerfhide armrests tightly. Another upgrade, he knew. Droids rarely sat and when they did, they didn't care for comfort. Looking over to his left, he saw the communications center and just down from the was the navigation controls. To his right was weapons and shields. Everything was easily accessible at his hands.

Taking another deep breath, he thought back to all the battles he had fought.. to comrades who had given their lives to defend freedom, to those that had given him a chance to make a difference in the galaxy.

He opened his eyes. Now it was time to take the fight back to the Empire. He keyed in his comlink.

"Bring the crew aboard and let's get underway, we are needed."
