Imp Deals, Deeds, and Devils (Sanya Tagge, Ana'Sera Beliq)

He took a deep breath of the fresh air as he looked out at the city. It had been a while since he had been on the up side of this city so the site was amazing to his eyes. The Balmorrian was waiting on this balcony attached to of all place The Ministry of Truth. It was the last place he thought he would see himself after being reassigned. Not to the mention the reassignment also entailed gaining a partner.

Jason dressed unusually in a suit and tie reached into his left pocket and pulled out a pack of cigs. He tapped the pack against his right hand allowing a single smoke to slide loose just enough to grab it. He pulled it out of the pack and put the unlit smoke to his lip. He then went to grab a lighter from his right pocket to find it empty. He patted around for a few moments to no avail.

"Just frakking great. I have to meet this new partner, talk with one Miss Tagge, and no morning smoke." Jason just shook his head as he looked up into the partly cloudy sky. "Yeah reassignment is starting out just dandy."

Jason looked at his watch wondering where this new partner of his was anyway. He leaned up against the bar on the balcony with his unlit cig hang from his lips. There meeting they had to set up with Miss Tagge was going to start without them if his partner didn't hurry the hell up.

Kicking off her stilettos, Ana leaned in the doorway of her tiny room and grinned broadly. It was always a great thing when you could see in the dawn and get home from a night out well after the sun had risen. The intermittent beeping of her forgotten comlink had seeped through the pleasant haze her mind was in, inducing her to toss her tiny purse aside and stumble about trying to find it. The little silver object had proven elusive the night before, and as such she'd left without it for her date.

The date had been a disaster, proving to her once again that men from SpecOps squads were entirely useless outside of missions. In the five foot space between her miniscule desk and sleep-couch, she shifted from the busty blonde she'd 'worn' for her date to her normal self, skin and hair alike rippling. As Ana closed her fingers around the comlink that had been under a pile of clothing, her chestnut curls swirled around her tall, lithe form.

She swore soundly as she looked at the time and re-read the message waiting. Ana was on the verge of being royally late - she was finally being assigned a partner, and a partner meant assignments. Undercover. She'd finally be able to put her abilities to good use. The swears kept up at decent clip as she pulled on the only clean thing left in her closet - a short black dress that wasn't perhaps as demure as it should be. Stilettos on her feet, she ran out of her room and flat-out ran through the hallways.

By some miracle, she made it to the Ministry of Truth and was given clearance to ascend to the balcony level, where she paused briefly to ensure her appearance was as perfect as possible. Slender fingers slid through soft chestnut curls, before smoothing the dress into its proper place. Clutch in hand, she stepped into the room and then through it to the balcony, in time to hear words of frustration uttered.

"Need a light?" Ana said quietly, a small smile curling her glossy lips, golden eyes glittering in the light, fingers extracting and holding out a tiny etched glass lighter.

The arrival of Ana'Sera Beliq seemed to stir some activity within Tower Aletheia, the head-quarters of the Ministry of Truth. A figure dressed from head to toe in white - in attire that seemed reminiscent of a Grand Admiral's uniform without medals and pips - paced out onto the balcony, regarding the mismatching pair who stood there with an implacable expression.

“Minister Tagge awaits your arrival,” he said with a gesture back into the tower, where a soundless turbolift would carry them tens of floors upwards to a conference room decorated in durasteel and glass. Behind a half-moon shaped desk, the sun streaming in from behind her through a panoramic (yet most certainly blaster-proof) window, sat Sanya Tagge herself. Her posture was impeccable, her hands folded neatly in front of her. A guard flanked her on either side, stood a respectable distance away.

For a long moment she said nothing, her ice-blue eyes simply considering both agents, weighing their worth. Then, with well practised sincerity, her full lips became a smile.

“Welcome to the Ministry of Truth. How may we be of assistance?”

Before Jason could even respond let alone reach for the lighter the new partners where interrupt by a man in white. Jason just shook his head and reached in his pocket pulling out his pack. He pushed his cig back in the pack as he made his way into the building. This day was starting off horribly he thought to himself as he looked back making sure his new partner was coming along.

The walk was silent as the pair where lead to Minister Tagge's conference room. The turbolift ride it's self held that uncomfortable silence as if they should say something to each other. The man in white didn't seem phased by the silence he seemed to keep the same facial expression no matter what. Probably brainwashed zombie or something the Ministry of truth was good at producing those.

Not that Jason minded as long as he wasn't the zombie, he could care less. As they where lead into the conference room Jason again noted to himself how the room seemed to be built to intimidate. Not to mention Tagge's personal guard, she had just about the same if not more security then the empress herself. As she spoke Jason straightened out his tie not taking his eyes of Tagge.

"I'm agent Mcgraves with IBI." Jason reached into his suite Jacket slowly and pulled out a badge flipping it open. "This is." he looked over at Ana'Sera. "This is my Partner Agent..." Jason mind went blank on what her last name was.

Spinning swiftly, she turned to follow her new partner and the gentleman in white with great alacrity. It wouldn't do to be falling behind for what seemed to be a critically important meeting. What the Ministry of Truth wanted with her was a haphazard guess at best...she'd only just been recruited.

If her files weren't all electronic, the proverbial ink would certainly not yet be dry upon them.

Ana tucked the crystal lighter back in her small purse, taking a brief moment to observe her reflection in the shiny door of the turbolift. Fingers smoothed out the dress and tucked an errant curl behind her ear before folding gracefully at her waist. As silence reigned and no one seemed inclined to break it, the young woman took the opportunity to scope out her new partner.

Out of the corner of her eye, of course, without seeming as if she were staring. She'd been dreading being assigned to desk duty or something of the sort, and was well-pleased that she'd been assigned an experienced Agent as a partner. Someone she could no doubt learn a great deal from.

And it certainly didn't hurt that he was decidedly handsome, even if he looked less than happy to be trussed up in a suit at this hour of the day.

As the lift doors parted and the man in white led them out, they were confronted at last by a pleasant sight. Jason spoke first, leaving Ana to regard the lady behind the desk with a soft, pleasant smile curling her lips. The woman was exquisitely beautiful, with a bearing that bespoke impeccable manners.

"Agent Beliq, ma'am...newly recruited and assigned to Agent McGraves only this morning. I'm afraid I don't even have my badge just yet." she said softly, inclining her head as she stepped forward to stand next to Jason.

The Minister's eyes touched for only a moment on Agent McGraves' badge. He had the air of a man who might well have just rolled out of bed and shrugged his way into his suit, if he had even slept at all. His companion, by comparison, was all poise and pleasantry. She was new, and he was an old hand, and Sanya couldn't help but wonder why the bureau had sent these two above all others.

“Marvellous,” she concluded, with a curt nod of approval. “Well, now that we're all acquainted, shall we get down to business?”

Miss Tagge was one that liked to get straight to the point something he could respect. It was actually something he appreciated to many people wanted to play games mind games in both the ministry of truth and IBI. Both the IBI and the ministry had their secrets both sides wanted to know the others which cause slashes from time to time. Yet this was one of those times when both departments needed to work together or at least that's what sub director Darlo had told Jason.

"Straight to the point I see." Jason tucked his Badge back in his suit jacket. Then looked to his fresh partner one more time. Darlo certainly hadn't prepared her for today he had to wonder if she even knew why they were here.

"The IBI is looking into the Belargic case." He stared Tagge right in the eyes. "You played your part but that's not the part that concerns us. We are looking into how the Inquisitoriate was handling. That makes you are a person of interest. We are hoping you can give us some incite?" His tone of voice was serious and just slightly condescending as he said person of interest.

    What the frak?!

Her composure remained as calm and pleasant as it had been, but her glittering golden eyes widened slightly at the mention of the Rebel leader. Even new as she was, Ana had heard about the Inquisitoriate coming under question after the man's disappearance - conveniently just before his scheduled execution.

Deft fingers withdrew a datapad from her clutch before tucking it under her arm. Plucking the stylus from its clip, she activated the device and opened a new file, scrawling notes in shorthand across the screen.

Golden orbs rose from her note taking to glance at her new partner, arching a brow at him thoughtfully. A bit abrupt, and rather clipped with his tone and his words, but his point was made. Ana cast her gaze then to Sanya, watching her lovely, flawless face and body for any form of reaction.

The young agent remained otherwise silent during the exchange.

If they had expected any reaction at the mention of Dasquian Belargic's name, none was forthcoming. Sanya remained a picture of cool, faintly detached interest. Beneath the surface, however, was a different matter entirely. She would not soon live down her colossal failure that had been the execution at Monument Plaza. In a matter of days, she had allowed two of the Rebel Alliance's most senior members – two of the Empire's most wanted criminals – to slip through her fingers.

Although it had never been officially confirmed before, Sanya had always suspected that there might be more of an investigation into her person than anyone was willing to let on. It seemed rather heavy-handed for Intelligence to send two agents to question her directly, but there was no telling what methods they might employ.

“I'm afraid I have very little to do with Inquisitoriate, Agent McGraves, so my insights may not be of much assistance.” She paused her, glancing for a moment at Ana'Sera Beliq, whose stylus moved almost perceptibly across the pad in her hand. “I will, of course, answer any questions you have, to the best of my ability. I like to think that there exists a certain respect between our departments, one from which we can both benefit.”

    "Of course there is."

Despite the distrust of the ministry of truth that Jason had there was a level of professional respect still. He knew that questioning Miss Tagge would have to be handled with some care. He couldn't just rush in make accusations and demand answers from one such as herself.

"I start with something you may or not know. Do you know the name of the holding facility where the Inquisitoriate was interrogating Mr. Belargic?"

The IBI might be privy to the information on where Mr. Belargic was being held by the Inquisitoriate before his execution but Jason was not privy at the moment. He needed to know if the Ministry of truth or Tagge herself was privy to such information before gaining custody of Mr. Belargic for his trial.

Tilting her chin upwards faintly, Sanya brushed a thumb against the hollow of her throat and fingertips against her pulse. It was a little quicker than before. “I do not. The Inquisitoriate are permitted a degree of secrecy that, as you know, puts them above and beyond accountability to organisations such as our own. The whereabouts of the facility they took Belargic to after my men captured him, and before he was marched into Monument Plaza, elude me.”
