Thread: Mutants Roll-Call 2008

  1. #21
Throwing in the Brotherhood NPCs I introduced last time.

    Name: Jason MacIntosh
    Code Name: Tron
    Allegiance: The Brotherhood of Mutants
    Age: 18
    Height: 5'7"
    Weight: 140 lbs.
    Nationality: American
Powers: Tron has the ability to merge his consciousness with electronic systems through direct physical contact. Not only can he read and program digital files with his mind, he can hack his way into secure systems and take over their functions. He must negotiate his way around security like any hacker, but the speed and flexibility of his interface gives him a distinct advantage over most countermeasures. He can also tap into wireless systems with a hand-held wireless card.

Bio information can be found here.

    Name: Noah Makaha
    Code Name: Geryon
    Allegiance: The Brotherhood of Mutants
    Age: 23
    Height: 6'8"
    Weight: 370 lbs.
    Nationality: Samoan
Powers: Noah Makaha can regenerate limbs. In addition, he can generate extra limbs, up to four extra arms (one from underneath each armpit and two from his back) and two extra legs (from the sides of his hips). When finished with them, he can reabsorb the additional limbs back into his body.

Bio information can be found here.

    Name: Natalia Fedorov
    Code Name: Masque
    Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (teacher)
    Age: 23
    Height: 5'4"
    Weight: 115 lbs.
    Nationality: Russian
Powers: Shapeshifting; can mimic physical appearance and voice.

  3. #23
    Name: Anita Florence
    Code Name: Sage
    Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (Librarian/Teacher)
    Age: 26
    Height: 5'5"
    Weight: 120 lbs.
Nationality: American/Canadian (Holds dual citizenship with Canada/USA)

Powers: Gains and permanently retains knowledge through direct contact with any item/object or being she touches. With living individuals, this may be seen as telepathy/mind reading, but that is not actually the case as she must have direct contact to get anything. Anita has been likened to a book.

Weaknesses: High-level mind readers/telepaths that are able to bypass mental barriers. Overall, she is also a non-combatant, usually resorting to beating her assailants with a purse/pipe/flowerpot (whatever is handy) or pummeling with fists, biting and kicking, if she is attacked.

    Bio: Soon/eventually...

    Guest
    Name: Francoise Dupont
    Code Name: The Oracle
    Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (teacher)
    Age: 28
    Height: 5'4"
    Weight: 110 lbs.
    Nationality: French
Powers: Francoise has the power of psychometry, in that she is able to sense the past and future of a person or object by making psychical contact with it. She wears gloves at all times, to ensure that she is not constantly bombarded with visions. In times of particular stress, she can be struck by visions that she has not initiated herself, though these are few and far between. Alongside these powers, Francoise is suspect of having limited telepathy/empathy, and is often creditted by her peers as having a 'sixth sense' - though it's unclear whether or not he intuition comes from telepathy or is merely an extension of her precognitive powers.

Weaknesses: Whilst glimpsing these moments of time, Francoise is no longer conscious of the world around her and will empathically feel any emotions experienced by the person she is reading. If she were to touch someone who had undergone severe physical pain, she would share their suffering.

Powers: Shapeshifting - the creature ushered forth through several genetic mutation processes can only be described as a compilation of Earth's most devastating and vile fauna. Equipped with a sleek black tail [approx. 2 meters] that is tipped with a point and acidic sacks, in her throat, that allow for projectile attacks. Throughout the transformation, her skin gradually grows darker and comes to an almost rubber consistency. Other traits include a forked tongue, fangs, clawed hands, glowing eyes, and a red pattern at the middle of her back.

    Code Name: Behemoth
    Age: 21
    Height: 5'11"
    Weight: 170 lbs.
    Nationality: American

Powers: Zach is capable of manipulating his molecular density, making his body weight range from being as light as a feather to approximately ten tons at will without changing his appearance. This grants him relative super human strength and a flexible amount of dexterity and agility. Being able to manipulate his molecular density allows him a varying degree of endurance and regeneration depending upon the wound inflicted.

    Bio: Coming Soon.

    Contessa "Tess" Abrahams - Cirque
    Allegiance: X-Men
    Age: 16
    Height: 5'7"
    Weight: 120 lbs
    Nationality: American
    Powers: Hypersensitive reflexes and flexibility
Weaknesses: Because of her anti-violent views, Tess' powers do not extend much beyond novelty at this point; they are merely physical mutations and thus makes her an easy target. What is more, her generally isolated childhood (limited to home and gymnastics) has made her somewhat of a social cripple and Tess finds it difficult to form friendships.

    Bio:

Raised in the quiet community of Gold Beach, Oregon, Tess Abrahams didn't have much to do as a child. Her parents, Thomas and Genevieve (a civil rights lawyer and PETA board member respectively), decided early on to homeschool their daughter. Worried that she would not gain the social skills that public education provided, they enrolled her in a gymnastics program at the local family centre. Tess excelled at the sport and progressed in leaps and bounds; she was nationally ranked and competing cross-country by age 10. Her extremely quick reflexes and freakish flexibility generated a reputation for the girl, although behind closed doors there were rumours and whispered accusations also born.

When she was three Tess' parents adopted a baby boy from Ethiopia, her younger brother Todd. An avid animal lover from early on, Todd soon had a small herd--mostly animals rescued during one of his mother's various crusades. One of these causes, a beagle pup named Ursula who was saved from a medical research lab, attatched herself to Tess and the pair have been inseperable ever since. Ursula travels to meets with young Ms. Abrahams and is the girl's only real companion.

As a passionate vegetarian and uber-pacifist Tess has learned to take criticism. After a recent meet however, during which her cotortionist-like beam routine set people to murmuring, accusations were hurled and a lot of heat has been directed at her. Unable to avoid scrutiny and find protection at home, Tess quit her gymnastic team and is now trying to find someplace, anywhere, where she can just blend in.

Powers: Superhuman endurance and strength caused by superhuman amounts of adrenaline surging through him. After particularly strong adrenaline surges, Junkie becomes comatose. Upon awakening, he is fully healed.
Weaknesses: Alcohol, cigarettes, and Asian women, just to name a few.

Bio: A bio would spoil the fun. For now atleast.

    Name: Jack Wednesday
    Code Name: Prime
    Age: 27
    Height: 5'9"
    Weight: 160 lbs.
    Nationality: American
    Affiliation: Vangaurd
    Powers: None.

Bio: Captain Jack Wednesday is the commander of the special operations unit within Vangaurd. He reports directly to Colonel Vasher only and beyond that has a very small public profile. Little else exists in any known record or file about Captain Wednesday.

Wednesday has undergone advanced gene therapy and uses advanced military technology to be considered an efficient tool in combating mutants. With both advancements, Wednesday earned the code name Prime, as the primary and forefront example of Vangaurd. He particularly leads the Primari squad, the elite even by Vangaurd's standards. And while the other soldiers have been given the same treatments as Wednesday, the Captain has tended to take to the gene therapy quickly and has made unexpected developments in areas that the R&D did not think was possible at Wednesday's given stage. Some of the scientists even went as far to say that he was still a non-mutant but what they might consider border line to the mutated homo sapiens.

    More to come...

    Name: Johnathan Parker
    Codename: Locksmith
    Allegiance: X-Men
    Age: 6'1"
    Height: 6'1
    Shoe Size: 16
    Weight: 502 lbs
    Hair Color: Brown
    Eye Color: Brown
    Nationality: American
Occupation: Cullen Institute Maintenence Lead, Automotive and Mechanical systems Proffessor.
    Powers:
Molecular manipulation. Stuck at a constant state of nearly double human molecular density, John Parker can make himself incredinbly dense, to the tune of weighing it at several tons, but can go no lighter than 502 pounds unless he went on a diet. Decades of practice have made John very adept with controlling this ability, though it does mean he can't swim, and he took several structural engineering courses to teach him what was safe to talk on, and what wasnt, when at his maximum density.

Superhuman speed. While he's not the Flash or quicksilver, John Parker can move and run--and to a limited extent think--far faster than a normal human. However, due to his large normal mass, and the incredible weight and mass he can attain, running at high speed carries great dangers to both himself, and those around him.

Bio: Johnathan Parker was born in Dearborn, Michigan, to a blue-collar family. He enjoyed a modest chilhood which bore little difference to many, and as his father worked in the Ford production plant, he learned much about cars at an early age. By sixteen, he too found himself working at Ford, and his prior knowledge carried him on to several promotions, and garnered him a great deal of training until at the age of nineteen he was already supervisor of an engineering team.

One night, to celebrate meeting what had seemed to be an impossible deadline, John took his team out to a local bowling alley for drinks and a few rounds of fun. Being too young to drink legally--not that he'd not been drinking for a few years already--John cleaned up that night in his bowling scores, until in the fourth round, he swung his arm so rapidly that the ball flew nearly three quarters of the lane before touching down. Thinking it a fluke, he shrugged it off, picked a different ball, and went at it again. This time, as he swung there was no great speed, but he did feel a great heaviness, and as his arm carried forward, releasing the ball, he felt as if a ten-ton weight had been dropped upon him. What he came to realize as he fell toward the lane was that the weight was him, and several layers of hevily-varnished and sealed maple shattered and splintered as he crashed through the wood of the lane.

There was no explaining it, and his friends helped him up without problem, but neither of his experiences repeated themselves that night. Still, shaken up, John bid his co-workers good night, and headed home. Over the next few months, John's powers returned more often, and in private he learned to control them. But as they grew, so did his weight, but with no discernable change in physical size. Through the next year he hid it well, but too many signs were being seen at work, and though he was next in line for for the lucrative promotion to department manager, Johnathan Parker left th Ford Motor Company to take a construction job in Westchester, New York.

It was there that he met Dr. Cullen, who was building a school, though from the plans John could see it was far more than just a school. And there were others there, others with strange abilities as well. John began to feel at ease with the doctor, and he stayed on even after the two years the construction took. In that time, John learned that there was more going on than met the eye, and Dr. Cullen discovered John's powers and helped him to focus and refine them, becoming far more skilled than he ever hand been. Eventually, John was introduced to a small group of students that the doctor called the X-Men, and he learned that he could use his powers for more than just personal good.

For three years, Johnathan Parker remained at the school, helping to build and design upgrades when he wasn't on missions with the X-Men. He was given the name "Locksmith" only because at the time he was introduced, he was going to install and key a series of locks in the sub-basement, and Dr. Cullen introduced him as "the locksmith." Beyond that, his name had little to do with his abilities. John was not happy on missions, however, and began to withdraw from active duty. It wasn't that he didn't think that the cause wasn't good, he just didn't like to constantly be put at risk, and be counted on to protect the others and be the heavy hitter of the group. Five years after first arriving in Westchester, Johnathan Parker packed his things and left, bound for the Midwest once more, but he left his X-Man uniform hanging in the basement, wishing to leave that part of himself there.

He returned to mechanical engineering and machining, this time keeping his head down and focusing just on his work. From shop to shop, company to company he roved, eventually making his way to the west coast. Then at the age of thirty-eight, a letter from New York found him, one with a familiar name on it. It was a request to return to Westchester, to Dr. Cullen's Institute, but from a fellow student. After a week of deliberation, John quit his job, packed his things into his van, and drove across the country to return to the school, only to find it very, very different than it had been when he had left fourteen years ago. Dr. Cullen immediately put him to work on many serious upgrades to the facility, and even placed him in a teaching role, both academically, and privately when it came to the X-Men. It took several months before he agreed to take another mission, now with a much different team, though a few faces were the same, but again he did not feel the draw to it as they did.

Five years later, now forty-three years old, Johnathan Parker is a fixture at the institute. Much of the mechanical systems and the newer levels of the sub-basement were designed by him, as well as many of the non-aircraft vehicles. He maintains his teaching role in the realm of mechanics and automotive sciences, but is generally thought of by the students as being the school's caretaker and general handyman. While John does have a few good friendships among the staff--John Rhee being his closest friend--he still feels an outsider sometimes, and often feels looked down upon by the other professors for having no real formal education beyond high school, and for being rough around the edges.

Hey guys, I guess I should catch up on what everyone else is up to.

    Name: Joseph Ironwood Patterson
    Code Name: Twitch
    Allegiance: None
    Age: 16
    Height: 5'8"
    Weight: 135 lbs.
    Nationality: American
Powers: Twitch has superhuman reflexes. Any other abilities are unknown.

    Bio:
Joe is soft spoken with a light southern accent and has a minor speech impediment, along with some inner-city influenced speech. He has nearly no idea bout the extent of his abilities. His only prized possession is his late Father's Pontiac Trans-Am WS6.

Twitch's father, Brian Patterson was an officer for the Atlanta Police Department. He was working undercover to infiltrate the Russian Mob's move into Atlanta. Patterson was a known contact to have connections that did minor supplies to Atlanta's local gangs, a mix of Hispanics, Blacks and Whites. The Russians cornered Patterson when his contact with the FBI sold out for 1.1 million dollars.

Brian Patterson was shot and killed returning to his car with his son from dinner on October 17, 2006.

Alisha Ironwood Patterson is an extremely successful lawyer and Human and Mutant Rights advocate. The Ironwoods are originally from Kentucky but moved to the East Village when first Alisha Ironwood and then Steven Ironwood earned scholarships to Pace. Alisha is 2 years old than Steven and is very much a big sister. Alisha and Steven were heavily influenced by Dr. Cullen's work before meeting him and becoming his lawyers for two years.

Alisha is often overseas or at conferences. For Joe's safety, he was placed in protective custody. Alisha, despite her outward activities, was in denial about Joe's abilities.

His powers have become too obvious, and, in January 2008, is sent to the Cullen Institute.

    Erebus
    Guest
    Name: Dante Donovan
    Code Name: Erebus
    Allegiance: ???
Age: Unknown [ seemingly in his early 30's]
    Height: 6'3"
    Weight: 165
    Nationality: Greek
Powers: Fissures split his skin, revealing the darkness within him. With its highly flexible nature, Erebus can emit tendrils and walls of the opaque substance that can both maim and absorb anything in his immediate path. He can also shape the shadows into wings and duplicates of himself. The severity of his power varies depending on the opposition and his environment. Because the darkness is apart of him, it automatically reacts when he is about to be struck, even if he himself is unaware of an attack.

Weaknesses: While he is still capable of using his powers during the daytime, they are considerably weaker. Excess light proves to be distracting and painful. The shadow replications are dismissed upon being attacked.

    Roleplay Related

    Name: Unknown
    Code Name: Greel
    Nationality: American
    Age: 18
Alliance: None. Has yet to met any other mutants.

Powers: Able to change all or part of his body into a blank jell-like substance.
The goo parts of his body are highly durable and incredable strong. He seems to be able to control the goo when torn from his body and reatach as well. The goo has been known to change from acid to non acidic as well. It seems that he has a form of regeneration as well as he has replaced goo that has been destroyed.

Weakness: It cause Greel great pain when pieces of himself of trn off. During this time he has trouble focusing his powers. Even though Greel can regenerate lost pieces of himself it leave him very depleted. Extreme cold seems to stop his ability to change forms and cause his goo form to solidify and become extremly brittle.

Bio: Greel is a kid trying to come to grips with what is currently is. He has gone from star student, to mutant, to runaway, to outcast in only little a year. He stared out as a Star student at his local high school. After he found out about his powers he started to keep to himself and drift away from friends and family.

He learned a hard lession after that. Aways look both ways when crossing the street. When hit by a car he splattered into his tar like form in the middle of the street with people looking. He ran away. Just like when he ran away from his friends when he got his powers, he ran away when he was 'outed'. Kids are cruel with long memories though. An old school 'chum' saw him when Greel was sleeping in the park. A fight broke out with Greel using his powers to restain the other boy. Greel learned a little more about hi spowers that day. In the heat of the moment his turned acidic and ate away a good chuck of the boy's body as well as the boy's skin. Greel had killed another. He did what he was used to again. He ran away.

Greel is coming to terms with himself now. He is being taught control by his mentor Slab. He understands that even though it was not his faught the boy died, but he has to own up to he needs to control his powers. Stop running and do what needs to be done.

Greel wants to be an X-Man, but doesn't know where to start. His powers are not real 'user friendly' and is worried on the path before him. He has a strong dislike for how he was treated and is starting to wonder if maybe The Brotherhood is right on some things.

    Takashi Koji
    Guest
    Name: Takashi Koji
    Code Name: Malice
    Allegiance: N/A
    Age: 21
    Height: 5' 6"
    Weight: 145lbs
    Nationality: Japanese
    Powers: Mass Empathy

    History
Takashi Koji was born November 11th, 1985 in Tokyo, Japan. His mother, Myra, worked at cashier at a superstore and his father, also named Takashi, worked for the Japanese Yakuza. His childhood was just as eventful as any child growing up in Tokyo. While he was learned to walk and talk his mother was absent, working late hours everyday at the superstore. His father, although an agent of the Yakuza- The Japanese Mafia, he found time for his son. Even though the time he found was only minutes, he spent just as much time with little Takashi as his mother. When he was six his father was promoted within the Yakuza and money become more abundant in their family. By the time he was going to school his mother quit her job at the superstore and allowed her husband to become the sole provider for the family. His father took more hours and was away more, this saddened little Takashi. He preferred being around daddy instead of mommy. School was more or less uneventful, he was neither smart nor dumb, but rather the middle class of student who did not excel but did not fail either. He was small, even by Japanese standards, as a child and was, of course, picked on by the bigger kids. This change as he grew older and taller. He became the bigger student, naturally lean and muscular, not to mention energetic. He excelled in sports and exhibited great hand-eye coordination. Of course at the end of the day he could be found taking part in Japan's biggest industry: Video games. He was not the best when it came to those electronic games, but he loved them all the same. The video game arcades were a personal favorite place to hang out for Takashi and his friends. Throughout all those days Takashi's father found time to be with him, to take him places, talk with him, and even help him with his homework. A seemingly unbreakable bond was created between father and son and no one compared to the love they shared. He loved his mother, but not in the same way as his father.

But happiness is not to last. One night, shortly after he'd turned fifteen, his father disappeared. They could get no answers from the Yakuza, and where too afraid to push their questions in harder, just in case the Yakuza pushed back. This devastated not-so-little Takashi and he plunged into serious depression. The doctors could do nothing for him and no matter of pills solved the problem. His grades in school fell with his joy and shattered like his heart. He never did bad enough to be expelled, he just did the minimal. Then at that time the popularity of Western culture in Japan exploded and everyone wanted to get on the bandwagon. Kids dyed their hair blond, wore Western style clothing, and tried to be like the foreign Americans. Takashi learned of a style of being in America known as "Goth". Goths were sad, desperate kids like him who wore dark clothes and make-up. So Takashi began dressing in dark clothing and wearing black eyeliner and other dark make-up. He stood out for a year or two until everyone else started getting into the look. His look then morphed into a style of his own as he neared the end of his education. His styles incorporated the dark undertones of black, drab clothing with other colors. Sometimes he could be seen wearing a black dress shirt, slacks, and a green tie. His emotional status changed as well and, without knowing it, he'd conformed to the "Emo" lifestyle that would one day become popular in America.

After his father died Takashi's mother returned to the superstore, getting her old job back and working all day long in order to afford their house rent, his education, and food on the table. Takashi worked small jobs on the side, but that money went towards personal things, such as clothing and other items. Then the unthinkable happened. His mother began dating an American living in Japan. The man was a former U.S. Marine who'd moved to Japan awhile back. The man's name was John Locke and before Takashi knew it the man had moved into their little home. Takashi did not take kindly to Locke, in fact he down right refused to acknowledge the man who, in his mind, was trying to take the place of his father, and he would not allow that. Eventually his mother forced him to talk with Locke and get to know him. Takashi resented him to the very last moment, but Locke did prove useful. The amount of Americans in Japan grew and so did the use of English. Takashi learned English from Locke and within a few years of this was able to actively converse with others in English. He even took an English class during his last year of school.

Yet before even Locke had showed up Takashi was at work in the underground of Japan. First it was beating up people for money, but it escalated into car racing. He found the sleek, small racing cars so attractive that he could not put it down. He worked on his driving and caught the eye of a racing car manufacturer who sponsored him in races. He did rather well and made some money. But things went crazy when Drifting became popular and Takashi's style of driving proved ineffective. He could drift fairly well, but not good enough to win races. He lost too many times and his sponsor kicked him out and sponsored another, more promising racer. Takashi changed his plans for the future.

His plans involved going to America, to get away from Japan and his mother and Locke. He just wanted to get away and be on his own, to do something successful and make his father proud. Despite what his mother said Takashi knew his father was watching over him, he could sense his presence with him wherever he went. Sometimes he even thought he heard his father talking to him, his mother called him crazy. The end of November '06 came and Takashi, recently turning twenty-one, boarded a plane and left Japan, heading for America. His plane landed in New York and Takashi was faced with a new world to cope with. His English skills came in handy now to converse with the natives. There was still many things to learn: Slang, larger more complex words, and the names of important locations and places. He found an apartment room, using what money he had saved up to rent it out, and then began to explore the city, looking for employment.

Unknown to anyone, even Takashi, his father had been a mutant and Takashi carried dormant x-genes within him. His powers would be unleashed soon enough, whether he was ready for them or not...

    Expanded History
Takashi's powers manifested and as a result he took control of the emotions of a crowd of protestors outside a hospital giving out a so called "Mutant cure". Infuriated by the death of one of the protestors, Koji spread his unsurpasing wrath through the crowd and launched them all into a screaming frenzy that left the guards and doctors dead and the hospital thoroughly destroyed.

Koji believes that it is his destiny to lead a revolution against the United States Goverment, which he views as corrupt and evil, trying to destroy mutation which is clearly the next step of the evolutionary theory they cling to so strongly, and to kill mutation is to kill the future of the human race and thus welcome extinction. He will not let that happen, so he now carves a bloody path through society, leaving messages to the Government behind with demands to be made of the Government, which they disregard. Koji is convinced that war is the only thing they understand, and he is determined to make this one as bloody as can be. He does not fight for mutant rights, but for the future. His folling is mostly human, his power of mass empathy filling them with his near-religious zeal, effectively pushing them beyond moral limitations. He has created an army of monsters.

Affiliates: Formerly of the X-Men; Gained a collegiate education at Cullen's Institute for the Gifted.

Past Biography: Brian MacLanahan grew up in the same township as the Institute's present location. He had a normal life, or at least, as normal a life as a cop's son could get. He was quite active, into playing baseball, football, wrestling in the backyard with the boys.

Some time during his adolescent life, his father had a case go incredibly sour. This resulted in Patrick MacLanahan turning to alcohol as a means to escape. And this, in turn, resulted in abusive behaviour, though no actual violent behaviour occured until he was older. One day, when Brian returned home, he found his mother, Sarah, on the floor of their kitchen crying, a trickle of blood coming from her lip, his father standing over her. More determined than angry, Brian stood up to his father, telling him to get help, to stop it. When his father went to strike Brian, Brian found himself with a broken nose. When he went to get back up, Patrick struck his son again, only to draw back a completely broken hand. The father then watched in abject horror as his son transformed before his eyes, gaining almost six inches in height, almost doubling his weight, his skin and flesh transforming into pale, white marble-looking stone, topped with a shock of reddish-clay. His eyes were emeralds as Brian straightened himself up, and told his father to back down. Even drunk, Patrick stood down. Patrick then lost his job, and his family. When it became clear that a mutant was involved, a doctor by the name of Cullen's approached the remainder of the family, and Brian was accepted into Cullen's Institute for the Gifted.

During his stay at the Institute, Brian recieved a collegiate education in Criminal Justice, and was able to attend police academy at the same time. In addition to these, Brian also became an active member of the X-Men, serving as an additonal strong-man and tank for the group. He was involved in several missions of varying degrees of difficulty and lethality.
Once it was available to him, Brian joined the local branch of the NYPD, and has served the law for twenty years, several stints of property damage keeping him from achieving outstanding ranks. But when asked, members of his unit, including his supervisors, declare that Senior Detective Brian MacLanahan is a outstanding and extraordinary individual, responsible for saving the lives of many. Those same individuals will also mention the enormous amounts of property damage that MacLanahan has caused, with a smile or a laugh.

During his time "on the Force," MacLanahan would occasionally come to the aid of his former fellow X-Men, such as a difficult mission in the mid-90's in North Korea to stop a super-soldier program exploiting mutants. This led to the rescue of one mutant, who later became known as Professor John Rhee.

Present Biography: MacLanahan still directly deals with the security of Cullen's Institute, occasionally being called upon to offer assistance in whatever means he can manage. MacLanahan also looks out for young, troubled mutants, and makes an effort to get them "rehabilitated" at the Institute. Senior Detective MacLanahan is currently in his twentieth year with the NYPD, and plans to retire soon.
