I saw a news piece on this a little while ago and thought I'd share. The "Mosquito" is a device that emits a sound that should only be audible to people 20 years old and younger. Most people over 30 can't hear it, because of the high frequency. It's being used as a way of deterring young scoundrels from hanging about outside shops.

The sound features a couple of times on the video in the above link. Give it a watch and see if you can hear it
that's really cool. I only heard it when it was played at the old people level though.
Some of that could be your speakers/headphones.
