I always forget what came out this year... >.>. But I guess, in no particular order, probably something like .... but I feel like I've left something out:
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (okay, maybe I didn't love it as much as some, but it's STAR WARS)
Jurassic World
Ant-Man (I much preferred this to Avengers 2)
Inside Out
Kingsman: The Secret Service
1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
2. Inside Out
3. Mad Max: Fury Road
4. The Martian
5. Avengers & Ant-Man - I liked them both a lot, ok
edit: augh forgot about Kingsman, I loved that movie too! Probably edges out The Martian. And I almost put just Ant-Man as well, :lol, but then I remembered how much I loved The Vision in Avengers...
I heavily debated Mad Max: Fury Road too. But it was that or Jurassic World, and Jurassic World had too many fangirl pleasing moments AND a heroine who saved the day in high heels :p. Which given my characters' tendency to always wear high heels in combat meant I was like "See! See!" :p
It's too early as it takes me till February to really catch up on everything, plus I like to really ponder on things. My early top ten would probably be.
1. The Martian
2. Inside Out
3. Brooklyn
4. Room
5. The Force Awakens
6. Bridge of Spies
7. Pawn Sacrifice
8. The Revenant
9. Jurassic World
10. Trumbo
I haven't seen enough films to do a top ten, but between now and the Oscars, I'll binge on all kinds of films. So, for now, I'll just include the most significant ones for me.
1. Mad Max: Fury Road
2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
3. Kingsman: The Secret Service
FOR SHAME, Droo!
;)
Only asked for five, anyway.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Mad Max: Fury Road
Jurassic World
Sicario
I'm trying to remember what else I saw in 2015...just those four...
I haven't had an opportunity to see Mad Max, Inside Out, or The Martian yet... I'm sure they'd be on the list if I had!
1) Star Wars: The Force Awakens
2) Ant-Man
3) In the Heart of the Sea
4) Jurassic World
5) The Theory of Everything
All five of these weren't what I expected, and I was "pleasantly surprised" by all of them. That's been a bit of a theme for 2015, actually (for movies/television at least)... everything turned out better than expected.
Theory of Everything made my 2014 list. Not sure where you are, but it came out here last year.
It didn't release in the UK until January.
